Month of May begins with showdown against St Louis

Tomorrow Gold Coast has the task of trying to win against the strong and first place St Louis Cure. It will not be easy as their roster is getting healthier. A win over them will shift momentum once again in favor of the Suns. It seems to be such a fickle thing so far. One week on top, the next week a complete reversal of fortunes. Gold Coast will field.....Starters: Alonso, Oduro, Beckerman, McCarty, Jewsbury, Braun, Nyassi, Levesque, Onstad-GK. Subs: Galindo, Magee, Sealy. Reserves: Ching, Jankauskas.

Suns work out blockbuster trade

LETS MAKE A DEAL!

Gold Coast just made a deal for the long term. Trading away two good players for two better players. What's the catch? Well, neither one is completely healthy at the moment. The idea around my mind was simple. I could stay the course or I could make the club better. This may not make it better this week, but in a few weeks Gold Coast should be much better and make a run for some kind of championship. Searching around the word is Jankauskas is set for a return soon. That is the thought at least. Hopefully these two new additions don't drag things out and make me look like a fool. Also Gold Coast is releasing Joe Cannon for Justin Braun.

Back to the old drawing board

GOLD COAST 1
CAPITAL DISTRICT 2

Blame it on the weather. Blame it on the officiating. The bottom line is Gold Coast had a bad game against the Gunners. Only one player managed to put up a score and that was Osvaldo Alonso. He had an assist that gave us a quick 1-0 lead. Most BSL clubs saw their scoring go down this week. The Gunners could only manage 2 points, but that was enough to win. Next time they may not be so fortunate.

Next up the C.D. Gunners

The following lineup order for Gold Coast F.C. is as follows......Starters: Oduro, Beckerman, McCarty, Magee, Lenhart, Levesque, Alsonso, Jewsbury, Onstad-GK. Subs: Alavarez, Sealy, Nyassi. Reserves: Ching, Cannon.

Mission: Accomplished!!!!

GOLD COAST 4
BURUD TOWN 1
The Gold Coast Football Club came in as underdogs and left as winners. With our best performance to date the Suns captured their 2nd win of the season by a 4-1 score. "We like the balance that we showed this week and hope to have gained a lot more respect with this result" a club spokesman said. The game plan was simple, to get over the 2 point threshold we had been stuck at and hold down the Burud Town offense below 4 points. Mission accomplished on both fronts. The roster performed and Burud Town went well below their average. Dax McCarty scored the game winner. Gold Coast F.C. is now in 3rd place and will have a few days to prepare for Capital District.

Another tough opponent is next

Time to put the pitty party to bed. As much as it still hurts to lose to Union S.C. there is a new opponent coming up and this one will be just as tough. Burud Town comes in having just scored 7 points in their last match and is in 2nd place in the BSL. The lineup for Gold Coast in game 3 will be...... Starters: Alvarez, Beckerman, McCarty, Lenhart, Jewsbury, Alonso, Oduro, Nyassi and Onstad-GK. Substitutes: Sealy, Levesque, Magee. Reserves: Cannon, Ching.

Sun's outclassed in first California Cup

GOLD COAST 2
UNION S.C. 4
Major disappointment was the predominate topic of discussion in the Gold Coast locker room after the match against rival's Union S.C. This is not how the club wanted to display itself at all. Union S.C. brought the attack to us and we just did not respond. While they were scoring goals, we were scoring zero's. The only smile to come out of management was seeing LeToux's 3 goals go wasted on their side. We were outclassed in this match plain and simple. The key will be how this club responds.
In 2 games so far Gold Coast has scored 2 points in each match. We will need to do better in this league of great clubs and using excuses like the injury to Brian Ching just will not due. Afterwards Gold Coast announced the signing of Sainney Nyassi. His addition is our desire to strengthen our club.

Ching will not be available for the California Cup

Suns striker Brian Ching will be sidelined for at least several weeks after hurting his left hamstring. The projected length of his injury is not yet known and should be revealed early next week. The 31 year old was the clubs first round draft pick and will be sorely missed in the upcoming California Cup match.
