Improvement and a Win

Gold Coast 4 Burud Town 1
Now that is the kind of result the ownership has been looking for. An all around effort from several players. Four, yes, four different players found the scoreboard this week against Burud Town improving the Suns record to 4-2 and moving the Burgundy into a playoff spot.

Striking Distance

Gold Coast 2 Rangers 0

Kenny Cooper's goal was more than enough to take down the Rangers. Matt Reis had another impressive showing and the Suns got back in the win column. "I am not going to say I am happy with how the club is playing, but 3 wins out of 5 is still respectable." said a Suns spokesperson. The win keeps the club in fifth place in the league standings and very close to a playoff position.

Shot Down

Second City 7 Gold Coast 2

-----------It was hard to watch as Second City just kept scoring and scoring. That club has surprising depth. Depth is a funny thing. The Suns were supposed to have it, but it did not look that way this week.

Total Team Win

Gold Coast 5 Union SC 4

It wasn't easy but the Suns managed to defeated the rival Blues in another barnburner. This is a true sign that this club is built to handle tough opposition. Plenty of players came up big in this one. Kenny Cooper and David Beckham brought home some assists. Alejandro Moreno and Cam Weaver brought home goals, and Matt Reis had 5 saves. It was a total team effort.
