Mullins Scores the Winner!

With his first touch of the match, the young Patrick Mullins put in the winning goal to break a 2-2 tie with Alamo City and give the Suns 4 points in 2 matches on the year. Darlington Nagbe would add in some insurance, but the damage was done.

Jozy Steals the Show

An impressive return for Jozy Altidore helped the Suns build an early lead, but the club was unable to hold it in the closing moments and had to settle for a draw. The majority of the lineup fell flat in what was a quiet overall weekend for many players. Overall, its hard to gauge the club on one match, so look for a better performance in week 2.

Gold Coast announced today the club has signed midfielder Mika Vayrynen to a 1 year contract. The 33 year old has played in 59 international appearances for Finland. Being released from the Suns after week 1 is completed will be Matias Laba.

Sacramento, Cal. - The Gold Coast Football Club will starting its core veterans in week 1 of the BSL season. The club has announced that no early transactions are to be expected and that the club has the utmost confidence in the players currently signed. Luis Robles will start ahead of Steven Clark as goal keeper and Darlington Nagbe will be honored as the seasons opening Captain.
