It's the Big One in Week 1

The first leg of the California Cup in week one? Insanity! cried the Gold Coast fans as they opened their schedules. The season opener is already full of excitement and full of expectations, but add in the value of this match being against the club's biggest rival, and you're gonna need ambulances standing by at the stadium for panic attacks. The Suns have re-built the roster and filled it with the likes of Jozy Altidore, Kennedy Igboananice, Brek Shea, and Gabby Torres. Also the Suns are high on their Designated Players in Nagbe and MPG. "We feel we have built a strong side and are looking to be in the top of the BSL standings." said a club spokesperson. Facing Union S.C. is never an easy task and that side has high expectations as well. "This is what you play for. You play to beat your rivals."

Suns Add Young Striker in Igboananike

Gold Coast Football Club continued to add firepower to their attack after signing Nigerian Forward Kennedy Igboananike. "He's young, he's exciting to watch, and he has a track record of producing in the past." said a Suns spokesperson. The question will be how Kennedy fairs in a new more physical league. "He is definitely worth the opportunity to show his stuff." Igboananike scored 8 goals in 31 matches in 2014.

"It was a tough decision since the club spent good money ($35) to acquire Lampard in 2014. His decision to stay in England until July was a real blow." said a Suns spokesperson.

First, its gives the club its old investment back, picking up $35 from the Saints to go with the rights to Nagbe for one of our free DP slots. After the trade, GCFC informed the league it will purchase a 3rd DP slot (which is actually our 2nd player signing now) to sign Nagbe in 2015 at the league asking price of $55. "All in all its a loss of $20 dollars for Lampard. Its as good a fix as p…
