One Win Short in 11'

Capital District 5 Gold Coast 1

BSL Cup Championship

The offense fell flat in the BSL Cup game. A hurricane did not help, but plenty of players had their chances and just did not score. "No excuses, once the scores started coming in from the Pacific Northwest and Rosales poured on 3 himself and Montero added a 4th we knew it was over" said a Suns spokesperson. A tip of the cap to the Gunners for a classy season. The Gold Coast Football Club has already contacted the commissioners office for a reservation next season and will begin scouting players that might be an asset to the club. More than likely both Designated Player slots will be used and perhaps a 3rd DP will be sought as well. The offseason begins................

Match Day for the 2011 BSL Cup!!!!!

The excitment has hit a tipping point for the city of Sacramento and most of the region of Northern California as the Gold Coast Football Club prepares for the biggest match in club history. True there have been other event matches including the 4-2 win in the 2010 Majors Cup Final against the Seattle Sounders and the 6-5 win over rival Union SC in the Majors Cup Semi Final that same year. But this is the BSL Cup. This is the League Championship. Critics can argue what is most prestigious. The Honors Trophy because it reflects the best record. The Majors Cup Trophy because its against the best a full MLS roster has to offer. But for the owner at Gold Coast, calling one's self the BSL Champions for a year would be pretty sweet. "It will not be easy. The club over there in New York State is a darn fine one and the owner over there has more hardware and more wins than anyone else." said a Suns spokesperson. The starters will be as follows, Beckham, Bravo, Cooper, Zusi, Moreno, Beckerman, Renteria, Alhassan, and Reis in net. Sub list (Hopefully it won't come to that again) will have Weaver first in line, then Cameron, Evans. The Reserves (remember last week) will be DeGuzman, Perovic.

The Big Game is Next!

BSL CUP SEMI FINAL

GOLD COAST 4 SECOND CITY 3/ Extra Time

The Gold Coast Football Club advanced past Second City to play in the 2011 BSL Championship. It took all four scores to seal the deal including a goal from Renteria, the hero of the match. Everytime the Burgundy Boys took the lead, Second City would equalize. The match ended in a tie of 3-3 at the end of regulation. Renteria who was sitting all the way in the 14th spot saved the day and helped win this club its first playoff game. Next stop.... H20 Park and the BSL Final Match.

No Majors Repeat

Alliance 5 Gold Coast 2

Coming into the match Gold Coast knew the objective and how hard it was going to be to defeat a very good Alliance club without the services of Omar Bravo and David Beckham. The result was a 5-2 loss and elimination from the Majors Cup.
